What a year of charging costs
A typical WV driver: 30 miles a day, 5 days a week, plus 4 long road trips — about 9,400 miles a year, winter included. Compared with a 25 mpg car, which would spend $1,643 on gas.

Off-peak (8:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Mon-Fri), all day Sat, Sun, and major holidays) is 12.3¢/kWh versus 24.0¢ on-peak. Your charger goes on its own circuit with an EV submeter installed behind your house meter. There's no monthly fee for it; the only cost is a one-time electrician install and inspection.
Each off-peak kWh saves 3.9¢. For the typical driver above, charging overnight and on weekends saves about $128 a year versus the standard rate — more if you drive more. Whether it's worth it comes down to how quickly that pays back the electrician's bill. The calculator's time-of-use option shows your number.
Rebates
Go Electric Level 2 Charger Rebate — $300
$300 rebate per ENERGY STAR certified Level 2 EV charger. Replaced the earlier Charge Forward program ($250 charger + $250 electrician bonus); there is no longer a separate electrician bonus.
